I spent over 20 years in the dance world, perfecting buns and braids backstage on myself and fellow dancers. In 2011, I began my professional journey at Paul Mitchell and became a licensed cosmetologist the following year. I quickly immersed myself in weddings, editorial work, and elevated event styling. Alongside bridal and special event work, I love welcoming friends and neighbors into my home for haircuts. From a child’s first trim to a sophisticated refresh later in life, I value the trust that comes with serving multiple generations of families. Owning my own business allows me the beautiful balance of entrepreneurship and presence at home. My husband and I are celebrating 20 years together this year, and raising our three children and fur child in our happy place, Encinitas. When I’m not working, you’ll find me in my minivan headed to club soccer, little league, ballet class or the beach with my family. I still take ballet class regularly, love thrifting for treasures, and find joy in creating beauty throughout my life — whether through thoughtful home design, curated outfits, or the people who sit in my chair. My love for beauty started long before my career did. I grew up around it. My grandmother and mother ran a very successful beauty pageant platform here in Southern California, and I was immersed in a world of glam, confidence, and transformation from a young age. That’s where I first fell in love with makeup — not just for how it made women look, but how it made them feel. Over the years, my artistry has evolved. I’ve refined my style and stepped away from the pageant world to focus on private clientele and weddings throughout Southern California, along with education — which has become one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. Beyond weddings with @thehairandmakeupbox, I teach makeup artistry in the South Bay, mentoring high school and middle school students who are curious about this industry and helping them see that creativity can become a career. Watching their confidence grow is one of the greatest honors of my life.
