| 2026-06-04 15:24 | Sidecar | 2026-05-17 18:55:00 | this pic is from my grad school graduation 16 years ago. i made it through the entire ceremony without shedding a tear… but the second i saw RJ, our oldest, i completely broke down 😭 (all you can see is his little head in the photo). he was only 1 year old when i decided to start my master’s program at @americanuniversity; a 2-year, saturday-only option that fit perfectly into my 9-5 job-having schedule and it didn’t require the GRE… only a portfolio and recommendation letters. around that same time, Ronald had deployed again overseas, temporarily making me a single mom. the days felt long and lonely: wake up, daycare drop-off, work, pick-up, bedtime… repeat five days a week. then 8 hours of class on Saturday, homework on Sunday, to start all over again Monday. i hardly saw my baby 😢 i had also just started a new job, and i was only 24/25 years old. but still at that young age, i knew exactly what i needed to become the best version of myself. and best believe this was long before all the “put you first” and self-care convo became cool. young P was onto something back then, clearly😎 i can’t say i always trusted those instincts afterward, but I’m grateful i did in those moments. of course, RJ remembers none of it… but he’s just completed a successful freshman year at @elonuniversity , and the sky really is the limit for him🚀 because when we choose ourselves, pursue our dreams, and invest in our growth, our kids get a front-row seat to what’s possible. | - | 189 | patricecameau | - | Open Link |

I rely on schedules otherwise I still leave the house without unbricking. And I block shopping/browsing now, which turns out I did more than social media. 3. We started this account a year after my mom died while in the throes of splitting the responsibility of caring for my dad, while I was also caring for a then 5 year old. It was hard. Grieving two different kinds of grief at once. I cried a lot in stories. Even though the grief isn't as sharp as it used to be, there are some days the dullness of its knife can still pierce and slice me open. My worst fear was always losing my parents, and it's still wild to me that I have been able to survive without them. And not just survive- but enjoy life. But with every new life event, missed Mother's Day or something as simple as the buds of a daffodil blooming, I still get transported to a place of sadness, happiness, anger, and guilt. Most of the time my heart breaks because I remember how my parents showed their love for me. And that's the hardest part of grief. Feeling their love in such an intense way, but not being able to be with them. So I lean into it. I feel my feelings. Open a voice memo, note or camera and talk to them. Sometimes if I close my eyes and really focus, I feel them with me. Just not in a way that benefits my actual organization system. Short story-long type of person. In 2021, I lost about 40% of my hair. It happened because I was grieving, I was sick, I was sad, and I was stressed. It happened fast, and it shook me more than I expected. Hair is tied up in identity in a way I didn’t fully understand until it started falling out. I kept telling myself it was just hair but it didn’t feel that way. It affected how I saw myself, how I showed up, how I felt in my own skin. I started seeing a hair loss expert (yes, the one two hours away,) Jillian at Hair Specialists in Hudson, Ohio and eventually got a hair topper. I have it installed and moved up every four weeks, and it genuinely changed my life. Not in a dramatic, overnight-fix way, but in a quiet, steady way that gave me a sense of normalcy back. When I mentioned having hair loss in passing, so many of you reached out and said you were dealing with hair loss too and felt really alone. That stuck with me. So this is me saying, very plainly and in a cliche way - you are not alone. And also, hair is not just vanity. It’s okay if it matters to you. It’s okay if it’s emotional. It’s okay if you do something about it, whether that’s a topper, extensions, treatment, or nothing at all. There are options. There is support. And there is a version of this where you feel like yourself again. Old Croc cheese is made with grass fed milk, is all natural, and non-GMO. I eat a lot of cheese and let me tell you, I love that you can taste the aging process in the sharpness of their cheese in every bite. Ingredients: -7oz Old Croc Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated -Biscuit dough or premade pizza dough -Jar of pizza sauce -Pepperoni slices, quartered (optional) -2 tbsp melted butter -Italian seasoning Directions: -Preheat oven to 350F -If using biscuit dough, peel each dough section in half. If using pizza dough, pinch off a small section at a time. -Flatten the dough into a disc, spread 1/2 tbsp of sauce in the middle, add a few pepperonis, then a pinch of Old Croc cheese. Wrap the dough and pinch the middle to seal and place in a greased cast iron skillet. Repeat. -Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, remove and sprinkle additional cheese over the top. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle some Italian seasoning over the top. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. -Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
