On the surface, they’re positive, convenient and supposed to make you feel good, but in reality, it was quietly causing chaos. buying outfits for every occasion trying new skincare and products because everyone else was thinking exhaustion meant I was productive saying yes to so much socially overcomplicating routines I realistically couldn’t maintain spontaneous date nights and letting convenience make too many decisions for me none of these things were huge on their own, but together they added so much unnecessary friction to daily life life didn’t magically become less busy it just started functioning better once I simplified and added structure to a few things. wrote more on this in the blog 💌 | - | 40 | amanda_navaa | - | Open Link |

I thought it would be good to clear the air about what other style systems look like in my own styling. The reality is choosing a style system or image consultant to help you with your personal style is a very PERSONAL decision. Just as we all have our own unique beauty, we all have our own unique perspectives. What resonates with one person, may seem abhorrent to someone else. And that's okay! I believe there is a system or consultant out there for everyone. I've explored a lot of different styling systems, and outside of my own there are only two that continue to influence my personal style. Firstly, the work of @davidkibbenyc was life changing for me postpartum. Many misconceptions exist concerning his work, but in "The Power of Style" you do the work under David's gentle guidance. For me, learning my Image ID helped me release a lot of the life long body image issues I lived with. Secondly, the work of @kitcheneressencescustomcolors really helped me refine my vision for my style and color choices by seeing myself through John's objective, artistic lens. John is a master of his craft and his understanding of color blew me away. I recommend both David and John's work, but make sure that you get your information from the source and not from the many other misinformed sources you may find online. If you are interested in a style system or in booking with a consultant, I'd strongly encourage you to not only do research, but to soul search. Get an understanding of what it is you are looking for in your style, and find a system or consultant you connect with on a deeper level. They are here to serve you, and you should never feel that you have to participate in something that doesn't fit you or your needs.
